Lyle Omolayo
Revolutionary Emcee
& Visual Powerhouse
Lyle Omolayo is a force of nature—a visionary emcee and electrifying visual artist who merges hip hop, activism, and art into a bold, unapologetic celebration of Black culture and resistance. Born in Plainfield, New Jersey, Lyle creates with purpose, passion, and precision—using every rhyme and every brushstroke to challenge injustice and spark transformation.
As a performer, Lyle has lit up more than 500+ stages across the U.S. and abroad, sharing the stage with icons like Kool Herc, Afrika Bambaata, Melle Mel, Styles P, Immortal Technique, Brand Nubian, The Awesome Two, and Rahzel of The Roots. His music is multilingual and multidimensional, blending English, Spanish, and Portuguese through projects like his dynamic hip hop duo Negros Americanos, born from a life-changing year immersed in Panama’s barrios. With albums like Emagin, L.y.l.e. Rainy Season, double album Dry Season, Flippin Tables, and Ugly Duck AF Lyle delivers raw truth, revolutionary insight, and a global sound that hits hard and inspires deeply.
But his impact doesn’t stop at the mic.
Lyle has been drawing since elementary school, and his visual storytelling is just as powerful as his lyrics. As a teen, he was mentored by legendary artists José Cruz, Ben Jones, and Gerardo Castro, who trained him in graffiti, street art, and fine arts—not just as disciplines, but as tools for cultural pride and social resistance. Under their guidance, Lyle developed a bold, comic book-inspired style that explodes with color, character, and revolutionary spirit.
His illustrations are charged with purpose—visually striking works that call out injustice, uplift Black identity, and celebrate liberation. With deep influence from his mentors in college, Young Lords Party leader José Morales and former Black Panther Kathleen Cleaver, Lyle’s art doesn’t just speak—it shouts, empowers, and mobilizes.
He’s exhibited in over 20 shows and published the coloring book Coloring in Colour : Heads And Landscapes, a vibrant tribute to the beauty, strength, and diversity of Black women—created to inspire, affirm, and uplift.
Every move Lyle Omolayo makes is rooted in a mission: to awaken minds, challenge systems, and tell stories that matter. Whether on stage or on canvas, he is creating a world where art is activism, and revolution is not only possible—it’s inevitable.
